“Cristo Re” Institute in Erba, Como.Erba is an Italian town in the province of Como in Lombardy. The town is located at the foot of the Lombard Prealps at 320 m a.s.l., in Brianza and is located in the homonymous Piano d’Erba. It is crossed by the Bova torrent and the Lambro river. Part of the shores of Lake Pusiano and Lake Alserio are included in the territory. The origin of the various villages that later gave birth to Erba is quite ancient. During the struggles between the municipalities and the Empire, the inhabitants of Erba sided with Milan, obtaining its citizenship in 1160. From the thirteenth to the sixteenth century the territory of today’s municipality of Erba was part of the dominion of the Visconti first and then of the Sforza, with the latter who granted it as a fief first to the Dal Verme and then to the Fregoso.
