Description
The estate in question is located in the Municipality of Lessona (Biella), a pleasant and quiet hilltop village, also known for the renowned vineyards of Nebbiolo and Vespolina, from which the precious red wine LESSONA DOC is obtained. The main building was built in the years between 1890 and 1900, and subsequently enlarged. Around 1960, the property passed to another property which assigned the entire villa to the seat of a psycho-pedagogical medical institute until 2002. The property consists of a large plot of 16950sqm, entirely fenced, kept as a park and courtyard, forming a single body consisting of: - Main villa intended for living rooms, bedrooms and services, elevated to 4 floors above ground, as well as a cellar floor with curved vaulted ceilings, and two rooms on a tower, or fifth floor above ground, with a panoramic terrace, all connected from a large staircase placed in the entrance hall; - Central body elevated partly with two and partly with three floors above ground, intended for rooms, corridors and services. - Low west building once used for kitchens, bedrooms, storage rooms, rehabilitation rooms and greenhouses. All this for over 3200 sq m of surface: (288 sq m basement / 990 sq m ground floor / 861 sq m first floor / 628 sq m second floor / 332 sq m third floor / 60 sq m tower). - Large private fenced park and courtyard with a small lake inside with a central fountain and with the presence of plants of historical value, some of which are recognized and protected as monumental trees of regional importance, which could be converted, respecting the essences existing trees, with vineyards. The buildings underwent a renovation in 2016 which involved the complete overhaul of the roof covering, the eaves projection and the replacement of all copper eaves and the replacement of the main deteriorated wooden frame. The historic tower of the mansion is adorned with merlons and bas-relief decorations, rose windows, effigies and arches in the Gothic style, unique in its kind, making this property special and unique. From the terrace of the tower you can admire an enchanting view of the Biellese pre-Alps. On the ground floor, we highlight notable frescoes and caissons on the ceilings, and a fireplace of important dimensions and of considerable architectural value. All floors are equipped with toilets and relative sanitary facilities. The stairs that connect the various floors of the structure, with the exception of the tower, are equipped with stair lifts. The structure needs a complete renovation.
